An honest comparison

Ridan House of Mandi vs Sufraq

Ridan helped bring mandi culture to Karachi and has earned its name since 2016. Their Gulshan branch is in Block 4 near Disco Bakers, which makes them our literal neighbour. Same street, same craving, two different tables.

So instead of pretending they don't exist, here is the comparison we would want as a customer: their live menu prices next to ours, and a straight answer on where each house wins.

Written by the Sufraq team, so read it knowing who wrote it. Ridan's prices were taken from ridanhouseofmandi.com's live ordering menu in July 2026 and rounded nowhere.

Where each house wins

Pick Ridan when

You want the veteran. They have been steaming mandi since 2016, they seat you majlis-style on the floor the traditional way, and with Clifton, PECHS and Gulshan branches one of their dining rooms is probably near you.

Pick Sufraq when

You want the same slow-steamed mandi for less, a kitchen that also runs real charcoal BBQ, pizzas and burgers for the rest of the table, delivery anywhere in Karachi, and a stove that stays lit till 4 in the morning. The 10% website discount does not hurt either.

Either way you end up with saffron rice and slow meat. We just think your money goes further at our sufra, and the numbers above are the argument.

Sufraq vs Ridan FAQs

Is Sufraq cheaper than Ridan House of Mandi?

On like-for-like mandi, yes as of July 2026. Sufraq Classic Mandi is Rs. 1,999 (half) and Rs. 3,199 (full) against Ridan's Chicken Mandi at Rs. 2,050 (single) and Rs. 4,100 (double). Sufraq Mutton Mandi, which serves 2 to 3, is Rs. 5,499 against Rs. 7,100 for Ridan's double. Check both live menus before ordering, prices move.

How close is Sufraq to Ridan's Gulshan branch?

A couple of minutes. Both sit in Block 4, Gulshan-e-Iqbal near Disco Bakers, so if you are nearby you can compare the smell of both kitchens on one drive. Sufraq also delivers across all of Karachi.

Does Sufraq serve anything besides mandi?

Yes, and this is the biggest practical difference. Alongside Arabian mandi, Sufraq runs a charcoal BBQ, feast platters, pizzas, burgers, wraps and Royal Kunefe, so one order covers a table of mixed cravings.

Who is open later, Sufraq or Ridan?

Sufraq's kitchen runs 4 PM to 4 AM every day, delivery and dine-in both. We could not verify Ridan's closing time from their site, so check with them directly for late hours.
